Paula Ortgiesen is a visual artist residing and working in Richmond, Virginia. Born in Sterling, Illinois, Paula grew up in the rich farmland of Tampico where she was surrounded by the stunning landscape that sparked her love for nature.
Currently, she enjoys working with acrylics and mixed media. By blending hot glue, jewelry, and gold leaf, she crafts textured and colorful pieces that often celebrate women and nature.
As the president of the Chester Artists Association in Chester, Virginia, Paula is committed to creating opportunities for members to showcase their artwork and learn new techniques.
I create art using mixed media, acrylics, and resin. The process of making art brings me joy and a sense of achievement as I draw inspiration from everything I see and touch in my surroundings. My aim is for my work to embody creativity, imagination, and passion. When collectors experience my artwork, I hope to evoke feelings of happiness and excitement.
